Cytoskeleton

The cytoskeleton is an important component of cells and is composed of three types of proteins: microfilaments, intermediate filaments, and microtubules. It provides structure, stability and mobility to cells by forming a dynamic network of interlinked proteins. The cytoskeleton helps cells to move, divide, change shape, control organelles and migrate. It is also essential for processes like intracellular transport, the formation of adhesions and the mechanical integration of the environment into a cell. The cytoskeleton's importance is essential in development, immunity, and various other cellular processes. Furthermore, its versatile nature makes it a versatile target for drug delivery and cancer therapies.
