Dextran Chromatography

Dextran chromatography is a type of gel-filtration chromatography used in biochemistry and molecular biology to separate and purify proteins, polysaccharides, and other macromolecules. It works by binding molecules to a negatively charged matrix known as dextran, which allows the molecules to be separated based on size and charge. Dextran chromatography is widely used in bioprocessing and research applications to isolate specific molecules, study structure-function relationships, and purify complex mixtures of biomolecules. In industry, the method is respected for its ability to quickly, easily, and inexpensively separate and purify proteins, polysaccharides, and other macromolecules with high resolution and yields.
