Glycosides
Glycosides are molecules composed of a carbohydrate moiety linked to an organic moiety. They are important compounds in nature and have various applications in medicine and industry. Glycosides are derived from sugars like glucose, fructose and sucrose, and are found in a variety of plants, fungi and bacteria. Glycosides can act as natural antibiotics, analgesics, antifungals and anti-inflammatory agents. They also have potential applications in cancer treatments, diabetes management, wound healing and other pharmacological therapies. Additionally, glycosides are used in food preservation, food additives and production of biofuels.
