Molecular Mass
Molecular mass is the measure of the total mass of a single molecule in atomic mass units (amu). The significance of molecular mass is that it allows us to measure the size and type of a molecule. Molecular mass is used in chemistry to identify different molecular structures, such as proteins and nucleic acids, and to understand the physical and chemical properties of a substance, such as its solubility, flammability, and response to reactions. It is also important for understanding the behavior of elements and molecules in chemical reactions.
