Nucleic Acids
Nucleic acids are a group of molecules found in the cells of all living things. They are composed of two components: a base and a sugar- phosphate backbone. Nucleic acids are the molecules that store and transmit genetic information. They act as a blueprint for the production of proteins, which are the building blocks of life. Nucleic acids are also involved in other important biological processes, such as cell replication and regulation. In addition, they are used in biotechnology and medicine to create vaccines, diagnose diseases, and target treatments. Nucleic acids are important components of life and vital to the health of organisms.
