Plasma Cell Disorders
Plasma cell disorders are a group of diseases that occur due to abnormal replication of plasma cells, the type of white blood cells responsible for producing antibodies to fight infection. These disorders can cause anemia, bone and joint pain, organ damage, and other symptoms. The most common form of plasma cell disorder is multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. Treatments for plasma cell disorders vary, but may include chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell transplantation, and immunotherapy. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment can help reduce the severity and progression of the disease.
