Viral Vectors
Viral vectors are modified viruses that are used to deliver genetic material into cells. Vectors are used in gene therapy and as vehicles for vaccinations. They are used to introduce a foreign gene into the genome of a living organism so the organism can express a different gene or produce a therapeutic protein. Vectors are also used for the production of viral vaccines, for the production of gene-edited animals, and for the production of gene-edited cell therapies. Viral vectors are powerful tools for improving the efficiency, safety, and affordability of gene therapy and vaccination.
