Fertility Preservation
Fertility preservation is the practice of storing reproductive cells, such as eggs and sperm, so they can be used in the future to achieve pregnancy. This practice is important for individuals and couples contemplating medical treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which can affect their fertility. It is also important for individuals, such as those in the LGBTQIA community and single people who wish to delay parenthood. By preserving their fertility, they can still have children when they are ready, without having to worry about the effects of age or medical treatments on their fertility. Fertility preservation can be accomplished through egg or sperm freezing, embryo freezing, or intrauterine insemination.
