Background Noise Acoustics
Background noise acoustics is the study of sound phenomena caused by noise originating from multiple sources. It is integral in the design of sound-proofing solutions, primarily in urban and industrial environments, where the noise permeates from a variety of sources, such as traffic, machinery, and other machinery-generated or environmental sounds. This knowledge is used to inform acoustic engineering techniques that improve sound-proofing solutions, as well as to design spaces with greater acoustic comfort and improve the overall soundscape. In addition, it can be used to identify potential sources of noise disturbance and address them as needed, ultimately creating a more sustainable and pleasant acoustic environment.
