Hearing

Hearing is the sense of sound perception. It is important for communication and understanding of language, music, and other sound signals. In humans, the outer ear collects soundwaves and sends them to the inner ear, where they are converted into nerve signals that travel to the brain. Hearing loss is a common problem, and can be caused by old age, exposure to loud noises, or ear infections. Various treatments exist to improve or restore hearing, including hearing aids and cochlear implants.
