Antibiotics
Antibiotics are drugs used to fight bacteria and other microbial diseases in humans and animals. They work by preventing the growth of bacteria or by killing them. Antibiotics are important for treating bacterial infections, such as strep throat, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and some other bacterial diseases. They can also be used to prevent or limit the spread of certain infections. Antibiotics help to reduce the number of infectious diseases by destroying the bacteria that cause them, therefore improving public health. Antibiotics are one of the most commonly prescribed medications, and they play a critical role in modern medicine by helping to treat serious bacterial illnesses and improve patient outcomes.
