Dithizone Staining

Dithizone staining is a histological technique used to identify metals, mostly zinc and copper, in tissue sections. It is a simple and cost-effective way to localize metals within a tissue sample without the need for complex immunohistochemistry or biochemical assays. Dithizone staining is important for assessing metal homeostasis in organisms and determining the amount of metal present in diseased tissue. It is also used in research to aid in the understanding of the underlying physiological processes associated with tissue disorders involving metals.
