Esophageal Diseases
Esophageal diseases are a group of disorders which affect the esophagus, the tube that carries food and liquid from your mouth to your stomach. These disorders can range from benign issues like acid reflux to serious conditions like cancer. Esophageal diseases can cause pain, discomfort, difficulty swallowing, regurgitation, and heartburn. Treatment varies depending on the type of disease, but can include lifestyle changes, medications, and surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to decrease the risk of complications and improve patient outcome.
