Hepato-Biliary Diseases
Hepato-biliary Diseases are a group of conditions that affect the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts. They encompass a wide range of conditions from chronic liver diseases, such as cirrhosis, to acute cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gallbladder. In some cases, the underlying cause of these diseases are unknown, while in others, they can arise from infections, alcohol consumption, bile flow obstruction, cancer, and other diseases. Diagnosing and treating these diseases is essential to maintaining a healthy liver, gallbladder and bile ducts and avoiding more serious problems, such as jaundice, hepatitis, and biliary cancer. Early diagnosis and treatment is critical in order to avoid long-term liver damage and other potential complications. Treatment options include lifestyle changes, medications, surgery and other therapies, depending on the underlying cause and severity of the disease.
