Pancreatic Tumors and Cancers
Pancreatic tumors and cancers are abnormal growths that originate in the pancreas, an organ located in the abdomen. These diseases can be both benign (noncancerous) and malignant (cancerous). Symptoms of pancreatic cancer can include abdominal pain, jaundice, weight loss and changes in stool, among other warning signs. Early detection is key for successful treatment, as pancreatic cancer is typically difficult to detect in its early stages. Early diagnosis and treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapies. The outlook for pancreatic cancer is generally poor, so it is important to practice preventive measures like a healthy diet, physical activity, and regular screenings.
