Pathophysiology

Pathophysiology is the study of changes in the function and structure of the body due to a disease or disorder. It focuses on the biological, biochemical, and physiological changes that occur at the cellular and organ levels in response to a disease or disorder. This is important because understanding how the body works in the presence of disease or injury is important in order to effectively diagnose and treat it. Pathophysiology is used to identify the cause of a disease, understand its consequences, and develop treatments to improve the quality of life for those affected.
