ADHD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurological disorder affecting children, adolescents and adults. Characterized by difficulty staying focused and controlling behavior, people with ADHD have difficulty sitting still, paying attention and controlling impulsive behaviors, and can struggle to follow instructions. ADHD is associated with academic, social and behavioral problems, and untreated can lead to issues with self-esteem and social skills. Treatment for ADHD typically involves a combination of medication to manage symptoms, along with psychological or educational interventions to help a person improve attention, organization and social skills. With effective treatment, people with ADHD can learn to manage their symptoms, realize their full potential, and lead productive and successful lives.
