Behavioural Ecology
Behavioural ecology is a field of study which explores the complex mechanisms driving animal behavior, and the impacts of such behavior on their environment. It seeks to understand how individuals maximize their evolutionary fitness - and ultimately, their survival - through specific behaviors. This field has gained attention in recent years as scientists attempt to understand the role of behavior in conservation and climate change. Behavioural ecology is a key tool in understanding how species respond to their environment, and how changes in the environment can cause rapid changes in the behavior of species. It is also used to determine the impacts of human activities, such as fishing, hunting and pollution, on animals. Additionally, behavioural ecology provides important insights into the management of threatened species, as it can be used to assess how changes in the environment can affect their behavior, and ultimately, their survival.
