Biogeography
Biogeography is the scientific study of the geographical distribution of living organisms over space and time. It is a sub-discipline of both ecology and geography, and looks at the combined influence of physical and evolutionary factors on the distribution of life on Earth. Biogeography is important for understanding the global diversity of species, the impact of climate change on ecosystems, and the relationship between ecosystems across the planet. It can also be used to inform conservation decisions, and inform agricultural and forestry practices.
