Tropical Forestry

Tropical Forestry is the practice of managing and conserving forests in the tropical regions of the world. This is important to ensure sustainable development of the forest resources and the local communities that depend on them for their livelihoods. Tropical forests provide essential ecosystem services such as regulating water cycles, maintaining soil fertility, sequestrating carbon, and harboring biodiversity. With a proper management plan, Tropical Forestry can help mitigate climate change and improve the livelihoods of people living in and around the forests. It can also help to protect vital habitats, conserve endangered species and prevent deforestation. Tropical Forestry also provides important products and services such as timber, firewood, non-timber products, carbon sequestration and eco-tourism. Sustainable management of tropical forests is essential for the long-term conservation of these forests and the communities that depend on them.
