Wildlife Ecology

Wildlife ecology is the study of interactions between wild animals and the environment. It focuses on how individual animals, populations, and species are affected by and interact with their physical, chemical, and biological environment. Wildlife ecologists study the effects of habitat loss and degradation, climate change, and other environmental changes on species’ connectivity, population dynamics, and distributions. Their research is used to inform conservation and management efforts aimed at conserving and restoring species at risk and their habitats. Wildlife ecology is important for understanding the complexities of the natural world, sustaining biodiversity, and promoting the health of ecosystems.
