Cell Biology
Cell biology is the scientific study of cells – the fundamental unit of life. Cells are the basis of all living organisms, and the cell is responsible for many of the processes that keep a living organism alive. Cell biology examines the structure, function, growth, and division of cells, as well as their interactions with other cells in the body. A better understanding of cell biology provides insight into how diseases develop, how cells respond to treatments, and how to develop new therapies. Cell biology research contributes to medical, agricultural, and industrial science, and is critical in the rapidly expanding field of biotechnology.
