Plant Molecular Biology
Plant molecular biology is the study of the structure and function of plant cellular components at a molecular level. It involves the use of techniques from genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology to understand how plants grow and develop. This knowledge can be used to improve crop yields, design better pest and disease resistance, and develop innovative products from plants such as pharmaceuticals and biofuels. Plant molecular biology also has important environmental applications, including helping to increase carbon sequestration in plants and improve the sustainability of food production.
