Computational Genomics

Computational Genomics is a field of science that uses powerful computer systems to study and analyze biological processes and biological data at the level of genes and genomes. It combines computer science, information technology, and genomics to analyze massive datasets and gain insight into the genetic components of organisms and disease. Computational genomic approaches play an important role in understanding gene regulation, gene expression, protein sequence and structure, drug discovery and development, personalized medicine, and other areas of biomedicine. By analyzing genomic data and making predictions, computational genomics provides the opportunity to improve treatments and prevent disease.
