Disease Susceptibility
Genes Disease susceptibility genes are specific genes found in the human genome that increase the risk of individuals developing a certain disease. These genes can either increase the likelihood of the disease occurring or alternatively, they may cause a milder form of the disease to develop. Disease susceptibility genes are important in the research and understanding of genetic disorders, as they can provide insight into why an individual might be more or less susceptible to certain illnesses. Knowing which genes play a role in disease susceptibility can help doctors diagnose and treat certain conditions more effectively, as well as inform the development of personalized treatments designed for the individual's genetic make-up.
