virus Human papillomavirus type 11 (HPV-11) is a type of virus that causes infections of the skin and mucous membranes. It is the most common type of HPV and is most often associated with genital and anal warts. It may also cause some types of cancers, including vulvar and cervical cancer. HPV-11 virus can be spread through skin-to-skin contact or through sexual contact, and it can also be passed on from an infected mother to her baby during childbirth. Vaccines are available to help prevent HPV-11 infection and the diseases associated with it.
