Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacogenomics is an emerging discipline in the field of pharmacology that focuses on the study of the genetic factors that can influence individual responses to a given drug. Pharmacogenomics aims to optimize drug therapy and improve clinical outcomes by tailoring drug treatment to the individual patient based on his/her genetic makeup. This approach allows for the development of more effective and higher quality personalized medications with fewer adverse drug reactions, and ultimately improved patient outcomes.
