REDOX Proteomics and Mitochondrial Biology
Redox proteomics and mitochondrial biology are the study of the protein composition and enzymes involved in the production of energy from food. It is used to identify the proteins responsible for this energy production and to understand their role in human health and disease. This research has implications for understanding the molecular basis of age-related diseases, neurological disorders and cancer. Redox proteomics and mitochondrial biology provide important insight into how cellular energy is produced and how it contributes to the overall health of an organism. Furthermore, this knowledge improves the development of new drugs and therapies to alleviate or prevent these illnesses.
