Structural Genomics
Structural genomics is a field of molecular biology that uses structural data of proteins to gain insights into their biological functions. Structural genomics applies advanced techniques such as X-ray crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and cryo-electron microscopy to solve protein structures and identify the interactome of the protein. The results of structural genomics research significantly improve our understanding of cell function and can be used to identify and design new therapeutic targets, as well as to develop drug discovery and personalized medicine. By providing detailed information about the structure and function of proteins, structural genomics advances our understanding of the role of proteins in health and disease.
