Bronchiolitis
Bronchiolitis is an inflammation of the small airways in the lungs. It is most common in babies and young children, and is usually caused by a virus, such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Symptoms include a cough, difficulty breathing, and rapid breathing. Bronchiolitis can be a serious condition and requires medical attention. Treatment typically includes rest, fluids, and medication to reduce coughing and wheezing. In severe cases, oxygen or other assistance may be needed. Bronchiolitis is an important cause of chest infections amongst young children and can have long-term implications for lung health if not managed properly.
