Interventional Pulmonology

Interventional Pulmonology is a specialized branch of medicine focused on diagnosing and treating respiratory diseases using minimally invasive endoscopic procedures. These procedures involve the use of flexible instruments inserted through the throat, esophagus, and nose to access the airways, allowing for targeted diagnosis and treatment of airway disorders like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma. Interventional Pulmonology also permits the detection of lung cancer and infection, as well as the removal of obstructive entities such as airway tumors. Interventional Pulmonology can improve quality of life and reduce healthcare costs by eliminating the need for more expensive or invasive treatments. It is a relatively new field, but has already demonstrated its potential to improve the health of patients.
