Respiratory Birth Defects
Respiratory birth defects (RBDs) are a group of illnesses that affect the lungs and airways of newborns. These birth defects can range from mild to severe, and can be caused by a variety of different factors. RBDs can affect the baby’s ability to breathe and get enough oxygen to their organs. RBDs can be treated with medication, surgery, or devices that support breathing, depending on the type and severity of the defect. Early diagnosis and treatment can help improve a baby’s chances of a healthy life. RBDs are a serious medical condition and can have life-long implications if left untreated.
