Disordered Thinking and Speech
Disordered thinking and speech, also known as psychomotor agitation, is a clinical abnormality that includes the inability to concentrate, the tendency for disorganized or illogical thought processes, and confusion or incoherency in speech. It is a hallmark sign of several mental health disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and some mood disorders. It can be managed through medication and/or psychotherapy, depending on its underlying cause. The treatment of disordered thinking and speech can significantly improve quality of life, reduce depression and anxiety, and provide better social functioning.
