Panic Disorder
Panic Disorder is a type of anxiety disorder in which a person experiences frequent, recurring and debilitating episodes of intense fear and anxiety. The symptoms of Panic Disorder can include chest pain, shortness of breath, accelerated heart rate, dizziness, and fear of dying. Sufferers often attempt to manage the onslaught of fear through avoidance and safety behaviors such as avoiding certain places or activities. Panic Disorder can have serious repercussions on a person’s life, causing significant disruption and distress. Fortunately, effective treatments are available, including cognitive-behavioral strategies, medication, or a combination of both. With the right treatment, individuals can gain the skills and resources necessary to manage their fear and lead productive lives.
