Recurrent Sinusitis
Recurrent sinusitis is a medical condition characterized by inflammation of the sinuses that lasts for an extended period of time. Symptoms include persistent nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, facial pressure, and/or pain, sore throat, and a reduced sense of smell or taste. It is most commonly caused by a bacterial or viral infection, but can also be triggered by environmental factors such as pollen, dust, and air pollution. Treatment typically involves antibiotics and decongestants to reduce inflammation and improve the patient's ability to breathe. In severe cases, surgical intervention may be required to drain the sinuses of mucus and open blocked air passages. If left untreated, recurrent sinusitis can lead to chronic sinusitis and other serious complications.
