Cephalometry
Cephalometry is a branch of science that uses computed tomography, x-rays and other imaging techniques to measure the size and shape of the head and face. It is important in diagnosing structural abnormalities in the face, skull and jaw. It is also used in orthodontics, plastic surgery, and maxillofacial surgery to assess facial and jaw growth changes and plan treatment. Cephalometry is invaluable in providing an objective and accurate assessment of facial characteristics and can help to assess the effects of orthognathic surgery and other treatments.
