Cranium
The cranium is the shield-like bone structure that encloses and protects the brain and its delicate nerve tissue. It is a complex structure composed of several bony plates, arranged in intricate patterns. The cranium plays an important role in the proper functioning of the body in several ways. It provides protection to the brain and the sensory organs, while forming a strong attachment point for numerous muscles and ligaments. In addition, the shape of the cranium helps to determine the shape of the face and the size of the head. Ultimately, the cranium plays an integral role in the structure and function of the human body.
