Femoral Block

A femoral block is a type of regional anesthesia that is used to provide pain relief to the lower limb. It is achieved by injecting a local anesthetic into the femoral nerve in the groin area. This blocks the nerve along its entire length and numbs the area. Femoral blocks are often used as an alternative to general anesthesia or epidural anesthesia, offering patients a less invasive procedure with fewer complications. Femoral blocks are also advantageous during arthroscopic knee surgery and can be used to treat acute and chronic pain.
