Femur
The femur, or thigh bone, is the longest and strongest bone in the human body. Its importance to the body lies in its role in supporting the body's weight, providing stability to the body, and allowing for movement of the lower extremities. It also provides attachment sites for many of the large muscles of the hips and thighs. Injuries to the femur can result in lower limb disability and impair mobility. Treatment options for femur fractures include physical therapy and/or surgery. The femur is a vital bone structure that is essential for normal human functioning.
