Muscle Anatomy
Muscle anatomy is the study of the structure, composition, and organization of muscles. As muscles are responsible for all bodily movement, understanding muscle anatomy is critical to understanding human movement and to maintaining good health. It is also helpful in understanding injury and diseases that can arise from overuse or disuse of muscles, as well as in developing treatments and therapies to help improve muscle function. Studying muscle anatomy helps fitness professionals to design safe and effective exercise programs, and it can help clinicians with diagnosis and treatment of muscle injuries.
