Osteoblasts

Osteoblasts are specialized cells that are responsible for the development and growth of bones. They are essential to maintaining healthy bones, as they produce the proteins, minerals and other substances that form the major components of bone. They also have the ability to repair damaged or broken bones and are essential in the development of the human body. Osteoblasts are vital in maintaining bone health, and their importance is further highlighted by the fact that many diseases, such as osteoporosis, can be linked to their decreased activity. The ability of osteoblasts to produce bone and repair damage also makes them applicable for bone grafting and tissue engineering applications in regenerative medicine.
