Pharyngitis
Pharyngitis is a common condition characterized by inflammation of the pharynx, the area of the throat just beyond the mouth and nose. Symptoms of pharyngitis include sore throat, fever, and difficulty swallowing. If left untreated, it can lead to more serious complications such as an ear infection or tonsillitis. Pharyngitis is most often caused by a viral infection, but can also be caused by bacterial infections or allergies. Treatment for pharyngitis depends on the underlying cause, but often includes medications and rest. Proper diagnosis and treatment of pharyngitis is important to ensure a quick recovery and to prevent further complications.
