Temporomandibular Joint Surgery
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery is used to treat pain and dysfunction of the jaw muscles and joint. It is a procedure that addresses issues associated with the joint itself, such as misalignment, trauma or arthritis. By realigning the joint or reconstructing the joint, the patient can be relieved from the pain and dysfunction experienced by the TMJ disorder. TMJ surgery has been found to be an effective treatment for treating both chronic and acute jaw pain, as well as improving the quality of life of patients. TMJ surgery can also help reduce the symptoms of joint and muscular disorders, including headaches, facial muscle pain, and difficulty sleeping.
