Vertebrae
Vertebrae are the series of bones in the vertebral column of humans and other vertebrates. They form the axial skeleton and protect the spinal cord, providing flexibility and support for the body. Every vertebra has an interesting and important role to play in the overall health of the human body. They protect the delicate spinal cord from physical trauma and shock, support the body’s weight, provide range of motion in the spine and maintain posture, and assist in the movement of limbs. Additionally, the vertebrae are the sites of attachment for most of the muscle and ligament groups that control and stabilize the spine. As such, the health of the vertebrae is essential for overall health, and any issues with them can cause serious problems, ranging from physical discomfort to mobility difficulties. Because of this, it is important to be aware of the structure and function of vertebrae, and to know how to identify and treat any issues that may arise.
