Cholecystitis and Biliary Colic
Cholecystitis and biliary colic are two painful stomach conditions related to gallbladder inflammation and gallstones. Cholecystitis is the inflammation of the gallbladder, while biliary colic is the pain or discomfort caused by gallstone blockage in the bile duct. Symptoms of these conditions include severe pain in the upper right area of the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, and fever. Diagnosis is typically done through physical exams, imaging tests, and blood tests. Treatment is focused on pain relief and prevention, and may include medications, changes in diet, or surgery to remove the gallbladder. Prompt medical attention is necessary in order to prevent further health complications.
