Polycystic Liver Disease
Polycystic Liver Disease (PLD) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the presence of multiple cysts in the liver. It can cause serious complications, such as pain, fever, jaundice, ascites, and enlargement of the liver. Treatment may include surgical removal of cysts, medication to reduce the growth of cysts, and lifestyle modifications. PLD is often associated with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), and the two conditions may co-exist in a person. PLD can affect individuals of all ages but is more common in adulthood. Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent further complications and improve quality of life.
