Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (DTC)
Differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) is a type of cancer that originates from the thyroid gland, a small organ located in the front of the neck. DTC is the most common type of thyroid cancer, making up around 85% of all thyroid cancer cases. It is typically very treatable, as long as it is properly diagnosed and managed. Due to its high success rate of being cured, DTC plays a major role in the treatment of thyroid cancer. Treatment options may include surgery, radiation therapy, and medications. Early detection is key for a successful outcome, so it is important for individuals to be aware of the symptoms of DTC and get regular checkups with their doctor.
