Cryoablation

Cryoablation is a medical procedure used to treat a wide range of malignancies, such as prostate cancer and liver tumors. The process involves the use of extreme cold temperatures produced by liquid nitrogen or argon gas to destroy cancerous cells by freezing them. The procedure is minimally invasive, with few side effects. It provides the possibility of treating cancerous lesions in a localized manner, thus avoiding common issues associated with traditional therapies such as chemotherapy and radiation, which can often affect healthy tissues. Cryoablation also has the potential to be used as a primary or palliative treatment for patients with inoperable or recurrent cancers.
