Protozoan Infections
Protozoan infections are caused by parasites of the protozoa family. These microscopic organisms enter the body through contaminated water or food and can cause gastrointestinal, respiratory, and skin and eye infections. Protozoan infections are widely distributed and affect millions of people in developing countries due to poor sanitation and hygiene. Treatment for protozoan infections includes medication, proper hygiene measures and, in some cases, surgical interventions. Early diagnosis and treatment of protozoan infections can help reduce their prevalence and severity.
