Synaptosomes
Synaptosomes are small cellular organelles found in neurons. They are important for the transmission of signals within and between neurons. They consist of a tiny synaptic vesicle surrounded by a membrane filled with neurotransmitters. Synaptosomes are responsible for releasing neurotransmitters that facilitate communication and allow our brains to interpret stimuli, process information and form memories. Therefore, they are essential in learning and memory formation. Synaptosomes also play a role in motor neuron signaling, which controls muscle movement. Research into synaptosomes is helping us to understand how neurons function, as well as how neurological diseases and disorders occur.
